Junk Food Junkie!

Came in from reading in the hall, and found him like this. He must have a secret stash somewhere or something.

Agnes Nixon Releases Statement!

Legendary daytime drama pioneer Agnes Nixon released the following statement to Entertainment Weekly:

ABC’s decision to cancel All My Children and One Life to Live saddens me greatly. I treasure the decades that the worlds of Pine Valley and Llanview were brought to life by our talented casts and crews. I appreciate that the network allowed our teams to break new dramatic ground and always supported our commitment to the honest portrayal of social issues. We hope we have entertained our viewers and perhaps even educated them along the way.

My deep gratitude goes to all the talented people who have contributed to All My Children and One Life To Live over these many years; we were always family, made up of writers, producers, directors, actors, crews. Equally important in that family are our loyal fans who shared this journey with us. Although ABC has concluded there is no longer a place for our shows on their network, I will do everything possible to keep them alive. God bless you all.

While I'm glad she's speaking her mind, and vowing to fight, I refuse to get my hopes up. That said, her commitment is inspiring.

Stars React!

Susan Lucci (Erica): "It’s been a fantastic journey. I’ve loved playing Erica Kane and working with Agnes Nixon and all the incredible people involved with All My Children. I’m looking forward to all kinds of new and exciting opportunities.”

Terri Ivens (ex-Simone): "Much love and endearing support to my AMC family."

Eden Regiel (ex-Bianca): "Saddened and shocked by the news of AMC's cancellation. It's the end of an era. I love you, AMC."

Denise Vasi (Randi): "Feelings about this are bitter sweet. AMC and its legacy ends, but we were all blessed to be a part of true television history!!!"

Jordi Vilasuso (Griffen): "6 more months of really good show! This has been the best group of people that I've ever worked with. I am blessed to have been part of AMC!"

Stephanie Gatschet (Madison): "It's a sad day in Pine Valley. We're all still trying to absorb the news... Thank you all for your support! AMC has the best fans ever."

Cancellation Devastation!

Yesterday afternoon, ABC announced the cancellation of All My Children, and One Life To Live. Although it had been rumored for months that one would cease to exist in the near future, it was highly unexpected that both would be sent to death row on the same day. According to published reports, All My Children will last air in September, with One Life To Live following in January.

Honestly, I planned on writing a huge post in an effort to release frustration and sadness, but, with my head still spinning, and heart broken, I'm afraid anything I write wouldn't do my feelings justice. I truly cannot believe this is happening.

Makes Me Smile...

Reconnecting with Liz over the last several months has been wonderful. This was taken at our ten-year high school reunion. I think we look good together.

One Of My Faves!

Raul Esparza as Che is amazing! His powerful, versatile voice and acting fit the role perfectly. Seeing him perform it live was awesome!

Yes!

Look for the new season of So You Think You Can Dance to premiere on May 26th! A couple other juicy tidbits. Mary Murphy will be returning to the judging panel, the top twenty will be restored, and Alex Wong MAY be competing. Personally, I'd like to see the allstars figure in after the top ten are chosen.

Countdown To Lockdown: A Hardcore Journal

Sadly, Mick Foley's literary efforts get progressively worse. Like his last autobiography, Countdown To Lockdown seems hastily thrown together in an effort to meet a forgotten deadline. I'll freely admit, not following TNA at the time about which most chapters are written definitely hindered the experience. That aside, I found a lack of consistency and conviction throughout the book. Chapters dealing with death and drug use in wrestling at turns feel speciesand aimless. Finding something positive, the exploration of family issues, and personal battles is enjoyable. Frankly though, a couple of flowers in a field of weeds isn't enough to justify time and money spent.

Love It!

Natalie Toro as Evita from The 20th Anniversary National Tour. I'll never forget sitting in the audience and watching her fireball portrayal. Was amazing. I wish that an official cast recording had been made.

20 Years!

Can hardly believe it's been twenty years since my first Wrestlemania experience! Crazy! Anyway, just like last year, festivities started early with an awesome lunch at No Problemo with Tim. The go-home episode of Smackdown was the perfect thing to watch while our food settled, and excitement continued building. Kyle and Dave arrived shortly before showtime. Predictions were made, and, as you can see, I didn't bet on the right horses. It's all good though! Amazing day! The tradition of greatness continues!

Hold The Phone!

It seems as though I may have gotten ahead of myself when reporting news of All My Children being granted reprieve. From what I'm hearing, the multi-year contract Lorraine Broderick signed is industry standard. While the cries of inevitable doom have definitely quieted, speculation now has Broderick returning to the helm with the express purpose of bringing the series to an end. Frankly, I'm tired of riding this rollercoaster. A definitive answer can't come soon enough!

Keeps Coming!

This just in! According to several reliable sources, Lorraine Broderick has signed a multi-year deal! In my opinion, this is an amazing investment in, and a great vote of confidence for our show. If you write it, they will come! Hooray!

Hallelujah!!!

Thank you, Sweet Jesus! Soaps In Depth is reporting that All My Children has been spared! The fantastic news doesn't stop there. Apparently, amazingly talented storyteller Lorraine Broderick is set to assume the position of top scribe! I feel like I'm dreaming! There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Ms. Broderick will make the best of this reprieve. No dates or specifics announced yet. Will keep updated as news comes!

Monumental!

All Tucked In!

Disgusting!

Baby Ellie is stillborn. Really? After months of plot contrivances and ridiculous storytelling, this is the payoff we get? What was the point of Angie's catastrophic choice between eyesight or child? All the fights, tears, anger, and compromise for nothing! As far as the random baby conveniently showing up in the back of Brot's cruiser, not really a problem. This being daytime drama and all, I'm use to suspending disbelief. I am however extremely angry that Jesse is lying to Angie. First off, he would never even consider the idea of lying about something so monumental. Secondly, him taking "the easy way out" by switching the babies without question is totally out of character.

We're supposed to believe that Jesse loves Angie more than anything? If that were true, how could he possibly deny her the chance to say goodbye? Despicable! Could it get any worse? Oh, yes! After the switch, Brot puts baby Ellie in the cardboard box originally occupied by the abandoned infant. When next we see the noble officer, he's standing over a freshly dug grave, leaning on a dirty shovel. No, I'm not kidding. Are we to believe that precious child was hastily buried in a cardboard box? In all my years of watching crazy, disrespectful storylines unfold, I have to say that this is the absolute worst! Whoever came up with this twist has no regard for human life, and should be fired. I've never seen anything so utterly repulsive. With stories like this getting greenlit, it's no wonder cancellation rumors continue to gain ground. Disgusting!

Trying To Break Free!

Looks like he's trying to bust out of prison or something. He picks the strangest places to sleep.

Sleepy Time!

Doesn't look like the most comfortable position to fall asleep in, but apparently they didn't mind.

June 3rd!

I absolutely cannot believe it! Dragon Gate USA is coming to Foxboro on June 3rd! It's incredible to think that I'm going to see the greatest professional wrestling in the world today! How lucky are Tim and I? I've said it before, and I'll say it again. There is nothing better than Dragon Gate USA! Can't wait to get tickets Monday!

The Original Diva!

A big congratulations to Tammy Sytch! The original diva is finally in deserving company!

Wheel of Fortune

This is my all-time favorite Wheel Of Fortune! Why? The graphics and video are the most realistic of any version I've come across. Seeing Vanna at the puzzleboard, contestants and their reactions, and an accurate representation of the wheel is awesome. Honesty time. If you're playing on a newer PC, it's best to turn video and animation off, sans wheel, for fluid, uninterrupted gameplay, and to prevent freezing. Puzzles are many, and will keep you busy without repetition. The best of all features is the ability to choose the intelligence level of computer opponents. On either Average or Smart setting, you really have to work to come out on top. Gotta love competition! A+

Epic!

The Mad Scientist!

Finally, someone to keep the rest of my action figure locker room in check! Paul Heyman is one of the greatest wrestling minds of all-time. Thanks, Tim!

How Cute Is He?

Wheel Of Fortune: 2nd Edition

I've played every Wheel available for the PC, and this is the worst by far. For starters, audio and video constantly lag, causing freezing. Secondly, even when they do work properly, they're not impressive at all, and are extremely repetitive. Continuing the negative, the repetition monster rears its head again when it comes to puzzles. Even though the above box promises 2,500 new ones, you'll quickly find yourself solving them without a single letter on the board. Game options offered are few, and don't positively enhance the experience. Lastly, and probably most irritating of all, computer intelligence. Unless you're playing with a couple friends or family members, don't even bother. The computer player is beyond stupid, and will provide absolutely no competition. All and all, as you've likely already surmised, stay as far away as possible from this terrible edition of America's Game.

Two...

Just a quick update. This weekend, at a concert in her honor, Barbra sang two songs from her forthcoming, yet-to-be-named album. I'll Never Say Goodbye, and The Windmills Of Your Mind. It's always so exciting when new material is on the horizon!

Funday Sunday!

Was so nice to go to the farm yesterday! Hadn't been in a while, and missed everyone! The oldest nephew and I played with matchbox cars, and told stories for a good portion of the afternoon. Wanted some pictures since it's been a while since I've posted anything new. Love that Lily was caught in the middle of a belly laugh in the first one. The vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting was an amazing treat. Just delicious! What a wonderful day!

My Mother's Curse!

After months of speculation and rumors, Barbra has been confirmed as starring in My Mother's Curse alongside Seth Rogen. Shooting is slated to begin this spring. While I won't give any major spoilers away, Streisand and Rogen play mother and son in the comedy. It'll be wonderful to see Barbra star in a comedic film again.

Awestruck!

I know. You're saying to yourself, "How could he be awestruck at the sight of a production truck?" While it may sound silly, I totally was. This was just the beginning of a night of pinching myself to make sure I was awake. Just amazing!

Del Rio!

His name... his name is Alberto Del Rio, and he is the next World Heavyweight Champion! I predicted his Rumble win, and now I'm going on record saying that he will defeat Edge at Wrestlemania.

March 21st...

A final airdate of March 21st has been announced for Melissa Claire Egan and Annie. I still don't want to believe it. As I said in the previous post on this subject, Annie is my biggest reason to tune in everyday. With her gone, there won't be a single storyline I care about. Very upsetting.

No Words!

I don't even know what to say. Can't write an in-depth review, because I still haven't processed it all. Will be able to more when I watch it back. To say that the experience was overwhelming would be the understatement of the year. I know I've said it several times in different ways before, but there is absolutely nothing that compares to experiencing your favorite thing in the world with your best friend. Best night EVER!!!

Breathe In... Breathe Out...

I loved this show when it first started. Will never forget it! Strayed through the years, and while I always found my way back for one reason or another, my fondest memories will always be of that first summer. Passions was awesome!

What A Goof!

Caught someone coming off of catnip in the first shot. Second was taken while watching him trying to attack snow through the window. No one ever accused him of being the smartest in the litter.

Goodbye, Sweet Melissa!

My favorite All My Children actress, Melissa Claire Egan, has announced that she is leaving. I can't even begin to explain what I felt when the news broke. Annie is one of the only reasons I've tuned in for the last couple of years. The official line is that she's leaving of her own accord, but with all the crazy shit happening in the soap world right now, I can't help but wonder if there's more to this story. As of this posting, there's been no word on a final airdate, or exit storyline. With the lack of imagination so evident in the current writing regime, I imagine the easy way out will be taken, Annie will go crazy, and will be shipped off to Oakhaven. It's just so sad. I thought Melissa was a lifer. All the luck in the world to you, my dear. You will be missed!

Cat Or Bat?

He's always hanging upside down. He must think he's part bat or something.

41!

On this day in 1970, at 12:30 PM, All My Children aired for the first time. While I complain here and there, I legitimately couldn't imagine my life without this show. Happy 41st anniversary!

Goofy!

Didn't get many good pictures over the holiday. Found this one though, and definitely wanted to share. It's a clown nose, but being Christmastime and all, it reminded me more of Rudolf.

Shannon Kane OUT!

Shannon Kane has opted out at All My Children when her contract expires. While I'm not exactly surprised to report this, I am a little disappointed. Natalia wasn't the most popular of characters, but I do believe there was major untapped story potential. The reason for the exit scenes to be a budding film career. I like Shannon, and wish her well in all future endeavors. Natalia last airs regularly in early February, but could return from time to time.
