Meow...

Have to thank my sister for this one. She always keeps her eyes open for anything Siamese cat related for me. It's just too cute.

I Hear Voices... In My Display Cabinet!

I'm not a huge Orton mark anymore, but couldn't resist picking this up. Feel bad for the other figures though. With that microphone in his hand, looks like they'll have to endure a monotone promo.

Old School!

These are just awesome. Tim gave them to me, and they occupy a place of honor on my TV stand. Love them!

Barbra Barbie

Going to get teased for posting this, but I don't care. There's no one better then Ms. Barbra Streisand. I just wish Mattel had created a more accurate likeness.

The Original DIVA!

Wow! What can you say? Just stunning! No one will ever compare to Sunny! She needs to come back to WWE and show these poor imitations how it's done!

May 4th!

The Village Vanguard concert, from September of last year, will be released in its entirety on DVD on May 4th. I can't wait for this DVD!

Elimination Chamber

Kudos to WWE for allowing the Elimination Chamber matches to take up the majority of the show. I always appreciate longer matches that build to worthy ends. John Cena winning on the Raw side of things was entirely unexpected and unwonted. Just don't understand why he is continually shoved at us. He's been to the top of the mountain enough times. Would have been nice to see Kofi Kingston get a shot. Wait. Now that I think about it, Cena isn't champion. In a swerve at the end of the match, Vince comes out and orders him to defend his newly-won gold against Batista. John, who had just wrestled for over forty minutes, was no match for The Animal. While the match was amazing, I was disgusted with the outcome in both cases. I just can't... or more accurately don't want to see Big Dave headline Wrestlemania. I hope there's another surprise coming to turn it all around.

The Smackdown Elimination Chamber went pretty much the way I thought it would. Got to hand it to Tim though. He said that we would see Shawn Michaels at some point in the night, and he was absolutely right. I really like the way it all went down. Michaels costing Undertaker the championship was the perfect catalyst for a Mania rematch. I felt bad for Tim, having to sit through a Taker loss and all, but can't wait to see what is sure to be an instant classic.

There were other matches on the show, but nothing really worth spending time writing about. The Chamber matches were amazing! Good, solid show.

Awesomeness!

What a great night! Tim surprised me, and we ended up going out to eat at a cafe down the street. I had never been. The food was excellent! We brought dessert home so we could have something to munch during the pay-per-view. It's things like quality time with amazing people that make you realize how incredible life can be. Plain and simple. The most fun I've had in a long time!

Skye Returning... :(

Robin Christopher is set to return to General Hospital as Skye. I put a sad face in the title of this post because I was hoping she'd give Pine Valley another shot. First airdate, and length of stay are unconfirmed.

Canary Releases Statement...

"My career on All My Children has given me more than words could ever convey, both professionally and personally. I have cherished each and every moment. I would like to thank all the fans who have tuned in throughout the years. Their love and support has meant the world to me. I truly feel that I will leave the show in great hands. The viewers will be happy with how Adam departs the canvas and I know that leaving JR (Jacob Young) as head of the Chandler household will continue to provide the show with many great stories to come. This is not the last you've seen of Adam Chandler. I will be back to check up on the Chandler Clan"

That is an official statement from David Canary regarding his retirement. Rumor has soon-to-be-returning Brooke ushering Adam off canvas in late April or early May.

Too Soon!

TNA Impact moves to Monday nights starting March 8th. Am I the only one who doesn't understand? Even before all the Hogan hoopla, ratings growth was strong and steady on Thursdays. Yes, I understand. Monday is traditionally wrestling night. Here's my question. Why tinker with a formula that's working well? Hogan and others are proving to draw. Why move to a night dominated by the competition and splinter the audience? If Impact were pulling in a 2.0 or higher, and could weather a bit of a ratings dip, I'd be all for the move. I honestly don't think the company is stable enough to go head to head yet. If TNA and Spike absolutely insist on walking this road, why not go 8-10? That way, there entire first hour is unopposed, and can be used to build interest in the remaining portion of the program. I see nothing but negative coming from direct competition.

Sure, there was quite a long stretch of time where WCW overtook WWE in The Monday Night War. Look how that eventually turned out. With most of the people responsible for the demise of WCW running around backstage at TNA with their chests puffed out, it seems as though destiny is doomed to repeat itself. Who knows, maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised. Maybe both companies will benefit. Maybe wrestling will see another boom in popularity. I'm just very skeptical.

I Hate Hospitals!

Had a little bit of a scare Sunday night. There's something of a flu or virus going around, and I caught a serious dose. I'm amazed at how quickly dehydration sets in. Always be careful to drink plenty of liquid. It's very frightening when everything around you starts spinning. Aside from sitting in the ER for what felt like an eternity, I'm very grateful that everyone involved took such great care of me. Thank goodness everything was over in less then 24 hours. I've heard of people battling this for days, so I feel incredibly lucky. All is well!

Summer Tour?

So, apparently the recent Streisand/Vegas rumors are entirely untrue. Matt, over at Barbra Archives, made an excellent point. Barbra has said time and time again that she doesn't like singing the same songs every night. Hearing it straight from her, why in the world would she agree to a three-year nightly deal? It just doesn't make sense. The original article, and several more reputable sources since, have reported that the reason she declined the offer is to embark on a summer tour. While nothing is confirrmed of yet, said reliable sources say that the possibility of this is fairly good. If it does indeed happen, and she makes her way to the Boston area, you can bet your backside I'll be getting tickets! Will keep everyone posted!

Love Him!

Just wanted to take a quick moment to say thank you to John Barrowman. Don't know if you'll ever read this, but you're amazing! Everything you do is gold. You're voice especially has brought me such joy. Could listen to you sing forever. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

Canary To Exit...

In a recent interview, All My Children creator Agnes Nixon confirmed that David Canary will soon depart. While I totally understand him not wanting to uproot his life, I simply can't imagine the show without Adam and Stuart. Yes, I know. Stuart has been gone for a while now. On some days though, I see Mr. Canary quickly slip from Adam to Stuart and back again, and can't help but smile. The exit of this actor and his two legendary characters will forever change Pine Valley. I'm so in denial...

Cole Checks In...

Former Guiding Light Star Bradley Cole has landed a gig on General Hospital. Cole, who will play Carlton Bauer, first hits our screens at the end of March.

New Opening!

Hooray! General Hospital is finally getting a new opening! Look for it to debut on February 23rd.

Quote Of The Moment...

"I am the love! Don't let me die away!"
-Promises-Barbra Streisand

Thank God!

I know I'm a little late, but I wanted to wait until I got the screencap. Lorraine Broderick's writing has finally started. I haven't seen a more beautiful soap-related sight then the one on the left in a long time. For those wondering why Pratt is still listed, apparently he'll continue to be until his outlined storylines stop airing. From what I hear though, every effort is being made to speed up that process. Now is certainly the time for lapsed viewers to tune back in. The change in the quality of dialogue and writing was immediately evident on February 8th. Incredible! All My Children is back!

Confessions Of An Ugly Stepsister

An adult retelling of Cinderella, Confessions Of An Ugly Stepsister is undoubtedly Gregory Maguire's best work. Cleverly presented almost entirely in flashback, everything seamlessly interweaves from the opening moment. Curveballs are thrown several times just as you're sure you have everything figured out. The ending, while I'm sure obvious to some, caught me by surprise. You'll get lost in this meticulously crafted world, and wish the ending would never come. I've read it several times. Unforgettable.

Dixie Date...

Cady and Dixie return on March 4, 2010. I'm trying to resist being excited, but think my attempts are futile. Even as shitastic as it's likely to be, I can't wait!

Reeves On Contract!

"Calling Dr. Stephen Webber. You've officially been put on contract at GH. Report to office for further details."

That's right. We'll be seeing a lot more of the good Doc. Hopefully his role will be expanded beyond Liz's talk to.

Hypocrisy!

Enough is enough! Why is David Pine Valley's favorite target? There are plenty of people doing underhanded things, and yet everyone has their venomous fangs pointed his way. No one in this town has the right to pass judgment!

Jesse Hubbard, the always upstanding Chief Of Police only arrests people he has personal vendettas against. Ryan admitted to breaking into Wildwind right in front of him, and nothing was done! The two of them went right on conspiring as if Ryan had said that he went to the candy store. This isn't the only time Jesse has overlooked an obvious crime. What a corrupt asshole!

Erica is so upset about the sabotaging of Fusion. She can't believe how amoral someone must be to do something so terrible. Isn't this the same woman who kidnapped Maria's baby and let her believe it was dead? Come on! Ryan is the personification of all that is good. His wife is presumed dead in a tragic accident. Before her body is even cold, he slips into bed with her best friend. Tiring of his new plaything in short order, he is now shacking up with her mother. No, I promise, I'm not kidding. Yet, I'm sure that when the wife reveals herself as walking among the living, saintly Ryan will make it is life's mission to win her back.

Jake is a thief, his wife wasn't sure who fathered her child, and his brother is a murderer who never paid for his crime.

Believe you me, I could go on for hours! Sure, David has done some unspeakable things in his time. The people listed above are only a few quick to throw his actions in his face. They only do it because they know if they take the time to stand in front of a mirror and look at themselves, they'd have to face the ugly looking back!

Anything Goes

Everything John Barrowman is involved in turns to gold. His autobiography, Anything goes is no exception. In the opening pages, John says he wants the experience to be as if you're sitting with him having a conversation. The desired effect is definitely reached. I think the thing I admire most about this read is its honesty. Even in the many moments of humor and silliness throughout, the truth never seems far from the surface.

Every tale told is so obviously an important piece of what makes up John's world. You'll be able to breeze through this one quickly, but be sad when it ends. I promise, you'll love every second. Can't wait to dive into the next installment!

I Can See Clearly Now...

All My Children has officially made the jump to high definition. What a difference! In some cases though, the crystal clear picture doesn't serve well. Everyone knows I love me some Susan Lucci and Erica Kane, but the new-found clarity really shows her age. That's not to say she looks terrible however, it's just that every little imperfection is on display now.

I really like the new sets. Wildwind and the police station really pop. As a whole, I'm definitely all for the switch. Now, with Lorraine Broderick and company coming onboard, maybe the writing will start to match the beautiful visuals.

ECW Rebranded...

ECW will cease to exist in three weeks time. WWE has made the decision to discontinue the brand. I've hoped for a long time that this horribly misrepresented, shadow-of-its-former-self franchise, out of respect for the original incarnation, would die a quiet death. A show, under the WWE umbrella, will continue to air in the existing timeslot.

Charitable Streisand...

Barbra will be one of the many singers and celebrities to participate in a new recording of We Are The World, with proceeds benefiting the victims of the tragedies in Haiti. A video will first air on February 12, 2010 on NBC.
