Casting!

Trai Byers debuts as Mookie this week. Putting the pieces together, you'll likely deduce that he is Maya's abusive boyfriend. This is the kind of thing I've been complaining about of late. Why waste time on peripheral characters, when we have so little left? Here's hoping resolution is swift, and both characters disappear.

In happier news, Verla Grubbs will visit Pine Valley in September. Superfan Carol Burnett will reprise the role, and reportedly share scenes with Susan Lucci, and Jill Larson.

Two Hours?

Numerous sources are reporting that All My Children will get a two-hour series finale on September 23rd. If this is true, I begrudgingly applaud ABC. Very classy! Let's face it, Erica Kane alone deserves a finale! No confirmation yet, but I'll be sure to post the latest.

1. The Windmills Of Your Mind
2. Something New In My Life
3. Solitary Moon
4. Nice n Easy
5. Alone In The World
6. So Many Stars
7. The Same Hello, The Same Goodbye
8. That Face
9. I'll Never Say Goodbye
10. What Matters Most

The Home Stretch...

Well, my friends, it's the beginning of the end. Lorraine Broderick's writing debuted yesterday. It's amazing how immediate the change was. Character-driven scenes, obvious respect to the past, interweaving stories, it's all there. As if I weren't sad enough about the show ending, yesterday's episode proved how brilliant it can be. Well it may be short, I'll be holding on for dear life, and enjoying every second of the ride.

Revenge!

Cover Art, Release Date!

What Matters Most: Barbra Streisand Sings The Lyrics Of Alan And Marilyn Bergman will be released on August 23rd! Must say, though, I'm not thrilled with the cover art. Maybe, if I hadn't seen this particular photograph a million times, I wouldn't mind. Seriously, how hard is it to take a new picture. So use to Streisand album covers being stunning. Anyway, that's a tiny quibble, and doesn't detract from my excitement in any way. Full, official track list should be released shortly. Cannot wait!

Who To Believe?

Remember that report I posted earlier about Tamara Braun returning to GH? ABC is dismissing it as "false rumor." Who to believe? Soaps In Depth, who is usually pretty on point about news? ABC, who are pathological liars, and say whatever suits them at the time? You decide. Personally, I wouldn't count out a return just yet. I think this is the alphabet network slapping the hand of SID for reporting something before they made an official announcement. No one really cares who broke the news. All this political bullshit is exhausting! There's more to come, I'm sure...

Lily!

Levin Rambin is returning to All My Children. Looks like Lily will pay a visit before Pine Valley goes dark forever. I'm happy for Jack. It'll be nice for him to get to spend time with a daughter who actually cares that he exists. No word yet on airdate, or length of stay.

Better Results...

Soaps In Depth is reporting that daytime favorite Tamara Braun will return to General Hospital this fall. Before everyone falls out, she is not taking over the role of Carly. Apparently, an entirely new role has been created for her. No specifics at this time.

Question. Does anyone in charge at GH remember the epic failure that was Claudia? Fans don't take kindly to actors or actresses returning to their old stomping grounds as a new character. That being said, I absolutely love Tamara, and am sure she will OWN whatever she is given. Who knows, with a new regime in place, maybe this'll be good. One can hope...

So Funny!

Chrishell Stause tweeted the other day.

AMC props guy before a scene at Krystal's:

"Do you have a preference between an omelette or pancakes?"

Chrishell:

"I NEVER want pancakes on this show!"

She is just beyond adorable. Nice to see that someone respects Pine Valley history!

Quote Of The Moment...

New Album In August!

A new studio album, entitled What Matters Most: Barbra Streisand Sings The Lyrics Of Alan And Marilyn Bergman, will be released in August. As of this writing, the album is said to have ten tracks. They include:

Solitary Moon
The Windmills Of Your Mind
The Promise (I'll Never Say Goodbye)
Alone In The World
The Same Hello, The Same Goodbye
What Matters Most

Cover art is confirmed to be a shot from Barbra's book. More specifics as they come. So excited!

Three More!

That's right! Three more beloved Pine Valleyites are set to return!

First, and most important to me, Melissa Claire Egan steps into Crazy Annie's shoes one more time. Just seeing her again is fabulous, but I sincerely hope Annie has gotten her shit together. Honestly, I wouldn't even mind her taking Emma and leaving to start a new life. If she does, I hope it's with Ryan's blessing, and isn't a cliche kidnapping. Annie deserves a happy ending.

Next on the parade of psychos, Kate Collins as Janet. Total honesty, I don't see the point in this one. Why exactly would she return? We don't need to see her trying to convince Amanda to leave Jake again. Been there, done that. I suppose it would be nice to have Janet finally come to the realization that Amanda is happy with her life, surrender her obsession, and wish her daughter happiness. If I were writing, Amanda would go batshit, and join her mother in Oakhaven. The seeds are already being planted.

Lastly, Jennifer Bassey, and Marian. I love Miss Bassey. She definitely gets the Kim Zimmer award for spinning gold out of crap. Will be very interesting to see how Marian impacts the canvas. Would be nice if she took Liza with her when she leaves again.

All three returns are set for the week of July 24th.

Fearless 2011!

I don't even know what to say about this event. Let me start from the beginning. Tim and I fought our way through ridiculous Boston traffic, and still managed to make it to the building early. A gentleman was kind enough to let us in ahead of everyone, and we even got to see some of the last minute rush. Jon Davis took a minute out of the craziness to pose for a picture. So cool! As Tim and I made our way to our seats, we were lucky enough to run into booker Gabe Sapolsky. Saying it was an honor to meet him doesn't even begin to describe how I felt as he signed my t-shirt. Mindblowing!

As for the in-ring action, absolutely awe-inspiring. The privilege of seeing that artistry live is the reason I get up in the morning. No joke! Johnny Gargano, and CIMA, chatted and signed autographs after the show. Sharing the experience with my best friend made it absolutely perfect! I felt like the luckiest cripple alive that night! I'll say it forever! Dragon Gate USA is in a class all its own! Nothing will ever compare!

Early Favorites...

So, the top twenty have been chosen. As has happened with every previous season, I have my favorites.

Iveta Lukosiute
Chris Koehl
Jess LeProtto
Wadi Jones
Sasha Mallory
and...
Melanie Moore

Honestly, this is the strongest top twenty I've seen. Season 8 is going to be amazing!

Fun Outside!

Yahoo! LaRue Returns!

Eva LaRue will reprise her Emmy-nominated role of Maria Santos on All My Children in July. As much as I can't wait to see them both, I have to wonder what will bring the widowed mother of two back to Pine Valley. Death, maybe? A wedding? Whatever the reason, I hope we get a couple catty scenes with Erica. I'd love to see a throwdown with Brooke as well. I feel like a broken record, but I'm sure with Lorraine and Agnes at the helm, it'll be a treat.

The Truth Is...

I love this picture! Patti LuPone as Evita! Others have been wonderful, but she OWNS this role!

Just Can't Explain...

I can't believe I'm actually reporting this! Josh Duhamel is returning to All My Children! Will Leo be alive? Unfortunately, with the stint only said to be lasting a couple of episodes, I don't think so. Expect the incredible occasion in August. How many times have I written about my love for Leo?! This is unreal! Truthfully, I keep expecting to hear that it's all some cruel joke. While I would love the end result to be Leo and Greenlee reunited in some way, I'll be happy with whatever happens. Can't think of anything better than Leo and Josh on my screen!

Really?!

Confirmation!

In a recent interview, Michael E. Knight confirmed that Dixie will indeed be coming back alive. When asked if the final go-round will satisfy the fans, Knight hints that things will be wrapped up neatly, with a air of continuation in the event that the show is picked up by another network. I wholeheartedly trust Lorraine Broderick and Agnes Nixon, and know they'll do their absolute best to deliver closure to all T & D loyalists.

Quote Of The Moment...

"Did she make you cry? Make you break down? Shatter your illusions of love? Is it over now? Do you know how to pick up the pieces and go home?"
-Goldust Woman-Fleetwood Mac

Preach!

Eddie Matos out! Dastardly Reverend State Farm makes his final appearance on June 2nd. What was the point of this whole storyline if Zach is coming back? Months of horrible acting, terrible dialogue, and completely unbelievable situations all for not! I get a migraine when I think of how much time was wasted with this garbage! One of the worst villains in AMC history!

You're FIRED!

Where to begin? First comes the news that General Hospital's highly controversial top scribe, Robert Guza, has been relieved of his duties. While I don't have a history with the show, I'm very excited. For the short time that I did watch, the central focus of mob activity made it tough to enjoy. Hopefully, Garin Wolf will refocus the show around vets, provide much-needed balance, and get back to the basics of character-driven storytelling. I think I'm going to tune back in when his material starts airing.

A big congratulations to fans of Days Of Our Lives! Expert hack Dena Higley has finally been shown the door. I was starting to wonder how far the ratings would have to fall before something was done. DOOL continues to defy the odds. I won't be watching, but have high hope that ratings and quality improve. Anytime a daytime drama takes a step in a positive direction, I'm there cheering it on. I hope that these two firings are a sign of renewed faith and commitment on behalf of the people in charge.

Possibility?

This is probably me getting excited for nothing, but just go with it. Was just visiting my favorite AMC message board, and saw that a fan tweeted Josh Duhamel about a possible return. The fan asked:

"With ABC so cruelly cancelling AMC, would you be willing to come back and have Leo reunite with Greenlee if asked?"

Josh responded: "AMC fans will just have to wait to find out."

Honestly, I almost shit myself when I read that. Everyone knows that Leo Du Pres is my all-time favorite character. I've never, for one second, believed that he drowned. Don't think there's enough time to bring Leo back alive, but could definitely see Greenlee dying, and the two reuniting in heaven. I can't even begin to explain what it would mean to me for the show to end with MY COUPLE together again!

Airdates...

First, some happy news. Cady McClain and Dixie return on May 17th! Though I've voiced my displeasure about Dixie's many returns in varying degrees, as the final one nears, I feel the excitement building.

Now, the sad. The last original episode of All My Children will air on September 23rd. Still kind of stunned. Don't want to believe it. Very upsetting.

The Latest...

About a week ago, I got an email from Dragon Gate USA letting me know that the June 3rd event was switching locations. Apparently, Patriot Place canceled the booking for no apparent reason. Wonderland Ballroom in Revere will now play host. Thank God it wasn't moved too far away, or canceled entirely. Three matches have been announced.

Ricochet vs. Yokosuka

Austin Aries vs. Johnny Gargano

Dragon Gate USA Tag Champions PAC and Masato Yoshino vs. YAMATO and Akira Tozawa for the Open the United Gate Title.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I may actually get to meet Austin Aries! I can't believe it! This promises to be an unforgettable night!

Melt Your Heart!

How adorably sweet does my little niece look in these pictures? Great Easter portraits! It's crazy how fast she's growing up.

Nominations!

Daytime Emmy nominations were announced this morning! Here's how the important categories shook down for AMC.

Outstanding Drama Series
Outstanding Lead Actor: Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake)
Outstanding Lead Actress: Debbi Morgan (Angie), Alicia Minshew (Kendall)
Outstanding Supporting Actress: Melissa Claire Egan (Ex-Annie)
Outstanding Younger Actress: Brittany Allen (Ex-Marissa)

While I'm glad All My Children has been recognized, two nominations baffle me. I love Ricky Paull Goldin, but what exactly has he done to deserve this? I honestly can't think of anything worthy. Brittany Allen is in the exact same boat for me. I'm a fan, but just don't get the nomination. Guess I should try to find the reels somewhere. Anywho, congratulations to all!

June 27th!

Bittersweet news! Lorraine Broderick's writing begins airing on June 27th. Under normal circumstances, I'd be beyond thrilled to see her name leading the credits. As I've said before, I have complete faith in Lorraine's ability to bring this show to a fitting end. Another confidence booster is a report that Agnes Nixon is working tirelessly by her side. I bet changes for the better will be seen almost immediately.

They Stole My Ride!

I created monsters with these two after offering them a ride before they left the other day. Now, everytime I turn around, they've commandeered my wheels! Seriously though, how adorable are they?!

Zach Back...

Thorsten Kaye will resurrect Zach Slater in September. As with Dixie, there's no word yet on whether he'll`be alive. Everyone knows I hate Zach, and am not all that fond of Mr. Kaye. If he has to come back, I hope it's in the form of an apparition to give Kendall his blessing to move on with Griffin. With all the returns on my wishlist, I'm aggravated that Zach is going to waste precious time in the final weeks. Booooooo!!!

Easter!

Easter is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays. Great friends and family celebrating in a special place. After dinner, it's time to watch the kids hunt for eggs. Love seeing the looks on their faces when they find them. I've been waiting for a long time, and the Rhubarb Cheesecake did not disappoint! After things quieted a little, the boys snuggled up to Memere for a little storytime. Fabulous day!

One More Time!

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Cady McClain will reprise her role of Dixie Cooney one more time before final curtain. No word yet on whether Dixie will be breathing. No details at all for that matter. Personally, unless she's back amongst the living, I think it best Dixie stay wherever she is. Apparently, a return was in the works before cancellation was announced. I wonder, if Dixie had found her way back to town when we all started screaming years ago, would things be different? Better yet, personal vendetttas shouldn't have been allowed to disrupt Pine Valley in the first place!

So Excited!

What a great Easter morning surprise! I open my email, and find a message from Amazon letting me know that The Lion King Blu-ray is available for pre-order! Wicked excited! I cannot wait to see and hear a complete HD restoration. Disney never disappoints with their Blu-ray releases, and I have a feeling this title is going to get special attention. My hopes are high.

Happy Easter!

Easter isn't just about fluffy bunnies, and baskets overflowing with sweet treats. Let us all remember the true meaning of this day!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Barbra! The legendary singer/songwriter/producer/actress/director/designer/author/philanthropist will celebrate her 69th birthday tomorrow! Hope it's wonderful! I love you, Barbra Streisand!

Oooops!

False alarm! Apparently, Trent Garrett and Asher are staying put. The report of an exit was made by an impostor. I stand by my feelings, and hope we don't have to endure Asher until the end. Hopefully, The Idiots In Charge come to their senses, and make good on the bogus announcement.

Asher To Ashes...

Trent Garrett tweeted news of his release from All My Children yesterday. While there's no word of a final airdate yet, his last day of taping is fast approaching. I'm not sad in the least to see him go. The character of Asher never had any real purpose, and the actor is extremely untalented. That may seem harsh, but I think TPTB made a good decision. The little time we have left should be spent with characters we love. Trent hints that his ouster is just the first. Wouldn't be devastated if Caleb and Asher exited together. That is one useless duo!
