WOW!

Julia Barr and Susan Lucci! Holy crap! So the storyline with Laura's heart just got underway, and I'm already floored by the performances. Julia Barr is effortless in everything she portrays. One minute Brooke is scared to death and screaming. The next, she's doing her absolute damnedest to keep it all together and be strong for her daughter. Julia makes every minute of the rollercoaster that Brooke is on grounded, believable, realistic, and relatable. An absolute master.

Having Erica be Brooke's support through all this is absolutely brilliant. The fact that they can put their decades of differences aside in light of what's happening is wonderful and inspiring. Seeing these two women relate to one another through the shared difficulties of their children is beautiful. Sometimes support is found in the most unexpected ways.

Lucci playing everything understated, with confidence, sincerity, and honesty is absolutely fantastic. My hat is off to both of these wonderful performers.

YAY!

Since I started blogging again, I've wanted to change the look and layout, but wasn't satisfied with any of the given options. Was bored this morning and decided to tinker a little.  Turns out it was much easier than I thought. So thrilled with how it came out. Love anything black and white. There are a few things I wish I could change, but I think it would require JavaScript and/or HTML knowledge, of which I have none. Happy with how it came out using the little skills I have. What does everyone think? Please feel free to leave a comment.

Flynnigan!

This is Flynnigan. My PCA found him half frozen to death in the bottom of a carriage in the Walmart parking lot the day after Christmas. Surprised me with him, and everything has been wonderful since. I think he's absolutely adorable, and he seems very happy here. Can't believe it's coming up on a year. Glad he was rescued, and I can give him a nice home.

Saw this bench when I went out for lunch with Eric the other day, and thought it would make a pretty black and white picture. Really like how it came out.

Powerhouse!

I know it's early, but think I may have just watched my favorite scene of the week. Nicole and Leslie going at each other over their children was absolutely fantastic. The chemistry between Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant is positively explosive. One of the things I love about BTG is that the creatives take good care to always make sure that each character has a valid, compelling argument to get the viewer on their side. Oh, and not to mention, snappy, smart, contemporary, real life dialogue. I know I just went on quite a rant there, but it's all to say that I love when these two powerhouse actresses and characters square off. Can't wait to see where it goes, but have to admit to wanting Nicole to completely destroy Leslie at the moment. She's been getting away with too much for too long.

WTF?!

Track listing has been released for the upcoming recording of the 2025 London revival cast of Evita. Honestly, I don't even know what to say about this. Someone, somewhere has to be playing some sort of joke. Not only is the recording incomplete, but it doesn't even include Eva's Final Broadcast or Lament! How is this real?! The show is her life story from beginning to end! Who the hell made the brilliant decision to not even include her death?! This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Not only are we getting screwed out of the complete recording that was promised, but this sad selection of tracks is ridiculous. I'm completely dumbfounded and disgusted.

Tracklisting:

1. Oh What A Circus
2. Buenos Aires
3. I’d be Surprisingly Good for You
4. Another Suitcase in Another Hall
5. A New Argentina
6. Don’t Cry For Me Argentina
7. High Flying Adored
8. Rainbow High
9. And The Money Kept Rollin in (and out)
10. You Must Love Me

June 29-July 1, 2024

Went to New York last year for my birthday with Eric.. That it was the perfect trip goes without saying.

Saw the original Broadway cast of Water For Elephants, which was absolutely incredible, went to The MoMA, and saw one of the most famous paintings in the world. Still cannot believe I saw Starry Night in person. What an honor!

Apparently, Santa got confused what day it was. Saw Fleetwood Mac's iconic album Rumors on the floor of the hotel the morning of my birthday, and Eric said that Santa brought it overnight. I still think he gave it to me for my birthday, but it's kind of cool to think that Santa made a special trip just for me.

Great food, too, putting aside the fact that I almost died, of course. See picture above.

Unforgettable experience.

April 12-13, 2023

Had been asking Eric to go to New York for quite a while, but the timing was just never right. When a revival of Sweeney Todd was announced, we both jumped At the chance. What an amazing trip! The show was spectacular, got to stroll Central Park with my best friend, had some fabulous food, and just let the joy of the city overtake me. Oh, and I got Ramin's autograph! We didn't go to see him in funny Girl, but I explained that I was a huge fan to the security guard outside the theater, and he was nice enough to talk to Ramin for me. Couldn't come out himself at that moment, but was nice enough to sign his John Hancock to a playbill. Absolutely magical, unforgettable trip!

Big Casting!

Greg Vaughn is joining BTG! This is the big news that TPTB have been teasing for quite a while now. While I'm not to familiar with Mr. Vaughn, I did see some of his work when I watched Days for a very short time. Seems solid to me. I know he is a very respected veteran of daytime, and is seen as quite the get. No word yet on character or length of stay, but I imagine a contract, and a very important role. Doesn't make sense for someone of his stature in the community to do a drive-by.

Took Long Enough!

David finally gets busted at the awards dinner. Moments before the cops arrest him, Leo tries to get him out of dodge, but infallible David won't take his warnings seriously. Not going to lie, it felt really good seeing David get his long-awaited comeuppance. He was super smug until Gordon spilled the T everywhere, and it was revealed that Leslie is ready to give a corroborating statement. Big bad Dr. D changed his tune real quick. How pathetic was he begging at the top of his lungs for Dixie to believe him, as he was getting hauled away by Derek and crew? Truly cringe. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, though I sincerely suspect the dastardly Dr. won't be down for long. One serious question to end the post. Is Dixie's dessert really that good that multiple otherwise smart men are obsessed with her beyond reason? She must have some sort of magical powers or something.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Started out a little slow, but really picks up. Ended up loving it, and didn't want it to end. Have to find a way to listen to the next one. Decent narration.

Can't believe I never posted about seeing the actual concert! How ridiculous! Long story very short, the show was absolutely incredible. We were so close, and Ramin even looked at me and smiled at one point. Unforgettable, even with the $60 cheesecake that tasted like cardboard.

Chemistry!

I swear, my computer screen is about to explode. No matter what they go through, Tad and Dixie have a once in a lifetime chemistry. Michael E. Knight and Cady McClain bring a level of raw emotion to every scene they share. You can feel their entire history with just one look between them. It's incredible. I've been privileged enough to see almost every iteration of the Tad/Dixie saga, and the chemistry absolutely never changes. Spectacular.

Ryan and Gillian are great as well. I hope someday I will be able to find someone to look at me the way he does her. That kind of love is absolutely forever, no matter what future writers try to convince us. Just so sad to know the ending is fast approaching. This is preemptive, as I'm sure I will be writing about the devastation as it unfolds, but I will miss you, Gillian. The death of a Princess, for such an unworthy reason.

I know. You guys are probably sick of reading this by now, but Leo and Greenlee! I can never get enough! Feel so bad for my girl. Here she is, sincerely trying to help Leo out of this loan shark mess, and she's abruptly and painfully dismissed. Devastating. Of course, as viewers we know that Leo is just doing his best to protect Greenlee from any harm, but it hurts to watch her feel unlovable. Can't wait until they finally get together. Hopefully a few moments of peace can be spared before tragedy strikes again.

David! David! David! Just when I think you've reached the irredeemable point of no return, you show up for Alex and Anna. Crazy to say, considering the blackmail and all, but it's really good to see you doing the right thing for once. Don't get me wrong, I still want to see the Martin clan take turns beating your ass when everything comes out, but it's a nice change to see a sliver of humanity shine through.

Here For It All!

I absolutely love the Smythe family. It's no secret how I feel about Greenlee, but reliving Roger has been fantastic thus far. He has just come to town, and zoned in on Erica faster than I could blink. I don't remember the specifics of this story, so watching everything unfold is going to be completely delicious. Mark Pinter and Susan Lucci have chemistry that threatens to set my computer screen on fire. Do they get a fair shake in the couple department? Don't think that happens, but excited to see.

Greenlee was absolutely adorable having dinner with Jake and Dr. Joe. She tried her best, but couldn't hide the fact that she was ridiculously uncomfortable. So fun to see Greenlee try to wrap her brain around a normal family dynamic. All was going fairly well until dumb Jake had to open his mouth about Roger's lie. Hope Greenlee lays into him with both barrels. Poor woman just can't seem to keep anyone in her corner for long. Most of the time it's her fault, but still sad.

I know there's quite a while yet, but I cannot wait until Mary shows up. Watching her hurricane of destruction is going to be so much fun.

Happy Spooky Season!

Got this guy at Walgreens a couple of weeks ago, and he said he wanted to come home with me. Somehow, he had heard that I collect his brethren, and wanted to join the family. It took a little convincing, but I finally gave in. He seems very happy here so far. Let's hope he doesn't give any of the other nutcrackers nightmares.

Scumbags!

This isn't going to be a long post. I just have to vent. Eva and Tomas are absolute trash. They have been dancing around each other for months, and finally gave in. So gross! If you don't want to be with someone, have the decency to be honest. Why is that so hard? I think disgusting Tomas loved the idea of being with sisters. Absolutely putrid.

Oh, and Eva better not even try playing the "I'm sorry" card. She knew exactly what she was doing from the time she asked that idiot to help her move. If you're going to be a calculating bitch, stand in your truth, and own it.

I feel so bad for Kat. Makes her way over to see Eva, and extend the olive purse, just to see her reprehensible boyfriend getting out of the shower. So sad. I truly believe Kat wanted to put the past aside, and see if her and Eva could find their way forward. After what she saw, if I were her, I would do everything in my power to set fire to both Eva and Tomas' lives. Would make it my only mission in life.

Erica and Dimitri! Those who have read this blog, or know me at all, are well aware of my love for this legendary supecouple. As a kid, I was absolutely entranced by the majesty of the gorgeous Hungarian Count, and the ever-alluring diva. Their romance was like nothing I've experienced before or since. The Gothic intrigue of Wildwind, the high-stakes game of corporate espionage and failed takeovers, pregnancy, miscarriage, cheating, and incredible location shoots. These two have an unbreakable bond for the ages, and, although it may be futile, I will always hope for a reunion.

Observations…

Working my way through early '01 AMC. I love it, but here are a couple of things I'm noticing.

Dixie is so incredibly stupid. How can she not see that David is manipulating her every move? Maybe she does, and doesn't want to admit it to herself? I truly don't believe she's that smart. Every single time someone tries to point out how evil David is, even when they have proof, she turns a willing blind eye. It's putrid. I don't remember what finally wakes her up, but I'm very excited to see that moment.

Ryan and Gillian are absolutely adorable. I googled to see when Esta leaves, and it's relatively soon. Have a feeling my heart is going to shatter all over again. Oh, God. I just remembered, once Gillian dies, the never ending back and forth of Ryan and Greenlee starts. I think I might be sick. Better enjoy every second of this I can. That is a rollercoaster I am definitely not looking forward to boarding again.

I was going to talk about this in a separate post, but may as well do it here. I absolutely hate J. Eddie Peck as Jake. How someone can oscillate between robotic and wooden is absolutely beyond me, but quite the accomplishment. 90% of the time, there's absolutely no emotion coming through his performances, and the other 10% everything is forced. It's almost physically painful to watch. To think, if I continue chronologically, I have another two years of this torture. Don't know if I can take it. Send me positive vibes and good luck wishes.

Laura/Greenlee/Leo is getting a little tiresome. Seems Laura has a similar problem to Dixie. Why can't she see what's right in front of her face? It's obvious to everyone in the universe that Leo and Greenlee belong together. Just cut your losses, girl. You'll be better off for it.

Signing off for now…
