Not good people, not good. Nielsen ratings for the week of August 24, 2009 were just released. Our beloved sudser, All My Children hit an all-time low of 1.7. Disgraceful and sad. Unfortunately, I highly doubt anything will be done in an effort to try and stop the hemorrhaging. There's nothing we can say that we haven't been screaming about already.

Apparently, according to one source, on the demise of Guiding Light, soaps just aren't relevant when most people are living lives that are either too hectic to sit and watch anything for an hour, and in some cases, their lives are more insane than what's going on in Pine Valley, Springfield or Port Charles. Then, there is a LOT more competition for our attention these days. The INTERNET either equals or exceeds the addicting value soaps used to have.
