Well, it's official! The soap gods hate me! Roger Haworth has signed a new contract, and will remain with General Hospital. I can't even begin to explain how upset I am. The actor is amazing, but my hate for Franco is legendary. I can't believe this abhorrent character is going to be infecting Port Charles for years to come! Hope everyone is up to date on their shots! Note to The Idiots In Charge: THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN EVER DO TO REDEEM THIS CHARACTER! HE IS A BLIGHT ON HUMANITY! Stop trying, and invest time in core characters, and well-written storylines!

So Exciting!

All My Children favorite Jennifer Bassey (ex-Marian) is joining the cast of General Hospital. Details of her role are being kept under lock and key, but I would imagine it's pretty substantial. It would be amazing if Marian came to Port Charles to stir up a little bit of trouble. As much as it would be wonderful to see her again, I would think that a visit from a beloved character from another show would the heavily promoted. If I were to venture a guess, I would say she is a recast of a legacy character. I will be happy to see her no matter what.

Daytime Confidential is reporting that contract negotiations between General Hospital and Roger Haworth are extremely tense, and things aren't looking promising. No matter how eloquently I were to phrase this, no one reading will ever understand how happy this makes me. I despise Franco more than just about any character ever, with the possible exception of Zach on All My Children.. He is a serial killer, he is responsible for the rape of a teenage boy, has had countless psychotic breaks, and let Sam believe that he raped her for years. With all those unspeakable deeds to his name, Franco is beyond redemption. No matter what direction the character is taken in, or how brilliantly acted by Roger, nothing will ever change that for me. I hope the two sides can't reach an agreement, and we never have to see vile Franco again! Good riddance to despicable garbage!

So happy to report that when Sami returns to Salem later this year, it will be under the new regime. This has probably been common knowledge for some time, but I just saw confirmation. Can't tell you how excited I am about this. Ron is going to write the shit out of Sami! And, from what Allison said in a recent interview, the return is part of a big umbrella story. Those have always been my favorite kind. Ms. Sweeney also revealed that she was heavily involved in the planning. Given how well she knows her character after playing her for 21 years, this can only be a positive. Thrilled to see how it all shakes out.
