I heard a lot about Sally Sussman over the years, so when she returned to The Young And The Restless as head writer in December, I decided to give it a look. I have been really enjoying it, but something is still holding me back from becoming completely invested. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I've decided to leave Genoa City. Could be many things I suppose. With daytime drama in its current state, is it really worth the amount of time it would take to learn character histories? Let's face it, I'm already four decades behind. Constant worry of cancellation is just too much to take. On top of that, as much as I like what I see, I wasn't immediately sucked in. It only took me one or two episodes to become completely obsessed with Passions, Port Charles, and Another World. I'm just not connecting with Y&R. That's not to say I won't visit occasionally. Just don't see myself taking up permanent residence.
