The day I've waited months for has arrived! All My Children is back! Watched the first episode this morning, and would like to share some thoughts.
It's amazing to see all the fan favorites back, and in top form. Next, I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy the new additions. Definitely potential.
From what little I can gleam from the first episode, the writing seems on point. Think we're in for some top-notch long story, and great twists and turns. As a little aside, concerning dialogue, could have done without the swearing. It was nothing terrible or offensive, just seemed unnecessary.
Right out of the gate, the cliffhanger of the television finale was addressed. No answers yet, but definitely excited to watch it all unfold. So much mystery!
Who got shot? Where is Cassandra? Is Tad in a coma? If so, will he wake up? What happened to Cara's baby? Was David framed? By who?
Holding on tight! Feel so privileged and blessed to be a part of it!

Confirmation!
A little over a week ago, I reported a rumor that Maura West is set to join General Hospital. Rumor no longer. It has been confirmed! While those in the know are staying exceptionally quiet regarding the role she'll be playing, we know her name is Ava Jerome. No airdate yet, but it can't come soon enough!

Booooooooo!!!
Tyler Christopher recently sent out a tweet letting fans know that he's sticking around PC through the summer. Can't tell you how bummed I am. I've made no secret of my dislike for Mr. Christopher. Think he is one of the worst actors ever! Everytime he's on my screen, I have the urged to kill myself. To make matters worse, Nikolas is so whiny, and self-righteous. The long and short of it? They both make me sick! Dear God, I hope the coupling with Elizabeth is not revisited. Such a great actress and character does not deserve to be dragged down by an untalented albatross!

Recast!
Bryan Craig is the new face of Morgan Corinthos. The role is contract, and he will debut in it on May 15th. Don't know much about the character, but am interested to see where he goes. Hope he's a little older, and can be involved in adult storylines. Just a guess here, but I think we may see Morgan eventually paired with the missing Q heir.

Amazing!
It's just been announced that FX Canada will be airing the revivals of All My Children, and One Life To Live! I know from reading a lot of rants that fans in Canada were worried that they weren't going to be able to see the resurrections. So happy that they'll be able to join us on this incredible ride!

OMG!!!
I'm so excited! My brain is on overload! Several reliable sources are reporting that Emmy-winning actress Maura West has joined the cast of General Hospital! The role is supposedly top secret, but I don't care. She could be playing a truck driver, and I would be ecstatic! One of the best actresses in the history of history is going to be back on my screen everyday! I know this is ridiculous, but it's almost like Ron and Frank knew I was about to leave town, and pulled out all the stops to get me to stay. Can you imagine how FIYA scenes between the divine Ms. West and Finola Hughes are going to be?! Or Nancy Lee Grahn? Or Genie Francis? Or Laura Wright?! Or LYNN HERRING?! I think I just wet myself! This is just plain incredible!

Awesome!
Just when I was about to throw in the towel because of the ridiculousness of the LuLu storyline, there's news to keep me hooked. Lynn Herring, Kin Shriner, and Genie Francis are all sticking around indefinitely! So amazing! We all know how loyal I am to my Lucy! Plus, I'm very excited to see where the Laura/Luke/Scott triangle is headed. There's also word that Vanessa Marcil is staying for a bit. Don't like Brenda unless she's in scenes with Carly. Their fights are epic!
Returning!
After weeks of speculation, confirmation has finally come. Michael Easton, Kristen Alderson, and Roger Howarth return to GH on May 10th! No word as to who they'll be playing, but here's what a rep for the show had to say:
"Exciting storylines full of mystery and intrigue are planned to usher in the return of these actors that will lead to the answer of one of the most asked questions in Port Charles."
While new faces seem to be the chosen path, longtime fans are hoping the actors will assume characters that have been missing from the canvas. Like I've said before, I have the utmost faith in Frank and Ron. I'll follow wherever they lead.

Building Anticipation!
Here's a little tease of what's in store for the first week. I like it because there's just enough given away to keep us wondering.
Monday, 4/29:
A Pine Valley resident vows vengeance. Jesse plans a surprise. As a fast car takes a son home, Pete spots something that will change everything.
Tuesday, 4/30:
A Pine Valley legend returns. Who learns something has gone terribly wrong? Dixie sits vigil.
Wednesday, 5/1:
An ex-con learns who helped him. Jesse gets big news. Cara fears the truth will come out.
Thursday, 5/2:
AJ helps Miranda out of a tight situation. After a year and a half, we finally learn the answer to an age-old question. Which character dies today?

Woooo-Hoooo!
Just a quick note. The tenth season of So You Think You Can Dance premieres on Fox on May 14th, at 8 p.m. So glad my summer addiction is back!
Casting, And...
Paula Garcés has joined All My Children. Her character, Lea Marquez, is devoted to a career of fighting crime, and is rocked when an unexpected connection forces her to open her heart. That the kind of law enforcement with which the character is involved isn't specified has me intrigued. Wonder if she'll work for the PVPD? Maybe Jesse and Angie are involved?
In other news, All My Children will produce 210 episodes per year. Did the math in my head, and it looks like we'll be getting an episode almost every weekday. Definitely good news!

Disrespectful!

“I don’t want anybody to get bent out of shape with this answer. WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year and I take it very seriously. It really almost doesn’t matter who I’m in the ring with. … The fact that I’m across the ring from The Undertaker — for me, that doesn’t make it any better or worse.”
To say that being in the ring with The Undertaker doesn't mean anything is ridiculous! Whether or not Punk believes it, it shouldn't have been said. If I were Undertaker, there'd be a problem. The lack of brain to mouth filter is astounding. Wouldn't blame The Dead Man one bit if he went a little shoot in their match Sunday.

Emmys!
For the second consecutive year, HLN will air the Daytime Emmy Awards. The 40th annual ceremony is set for June 16th, at 8 p.m. It's always wonderful to see the stars of daytime drama honored. Hopefully, General Hospital sweeps!
Date!
Emme Rylan will debut as LuLu on April 11th. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what she does with the character. Am hoping the confrontation scenes after the baby reveal deliver.

Shadow Of Oz
I consider myself somewhat of an Oz expert, and couldn't wait to read the newest twist. Author Nick Damon immediately introduces us to a complex adult Dorothy, living in New York City. With memories of her life in Oz completely gone, she is forced to confront long-suppressed issues in order to return home, and save the land she loves from evil.
All the beloved characters from previous tales are here, while some new faces are folded in, and fit near perfectly.
Shortly after beginning however, flaws become apparent. There isn't enough time devoted to character development, leaving the reader feeling unsympathetic to certain plights. Even the familiar seems cold at times, due to lack of depth and detail. A similar situation arises when Dorothy and friends move from disaster to disaster, with no time to catch a breath. This detracts from enjoyment in a huge way.
Those complaints aside, there are enough unexpected developments to keep one hooked, and wanting to see the journey through. The conclusion is well written, and will leave you hoping for a sequel.

Tidbits...
A couple mini-spoilers to wet your appetite!
Follow JR as he comes to grips with his past and meet his teen-aged son, AJ, who might just break the cycle of dysfunction that has plagued his family for years. Follow Pete Cortlandt as he falls in love with a girl named Celia who has a dark past even she doesn't know about. Get re-acquainted with Angie and Jesse and see them tested by tragedy and loss. Witness the return of Zach and David and follow the emotional journey of Bianca’s daughter Miranda, whose own mother lived in the shadow of the great Erica Kane but who is determined to forge her own path, on her own terms.
All sounds very promising. The anticipation is killing me! Absolutely cannot wait!
