"Though It May Get Harder For You To See Me..."

The Broadway revival of Evita officially closed on Saturday.  If there's any good news to be found in this, it's that box office for the final week of performances was very impressive.  After all was tallied, the show bowed on a high note, with $1,104,835 in sales.

I still can't believe the show has ended its run.  While I understand Ricky Martin is extremely popular, you'll never be able to convince me that it couldn't continue without him.  There are countless Broadway leading men who could have brought Che to heights Mr. Martin could never dream of.  While I'm at it, for the producers to point to him as the major draw is extremely disrespectful.  With strong leads to support the iconic material, Evita could have ran for years.  Just sad.

Incredible!

Prospect Park has just announced that they have inked deals with Hulu, Hulu Plus, and, iTunes to distribute the revivals of One Life To Live, and All My Children!  The agreements will allow these shows to be seen by millions through various sources.  Don't feel like watching them on TV?  Watch on the go anytime on your smartphone or tablet!  PP is doing whatever necessary to make sure this resuscitation attempt is successful.  Hopefully, they're eyeing a partnership with Amazon as well.  So awesome!

Beautiful!

My cousin, Jill, rescued this beautiful little kitty from life on the street.  Now, she has a loving home, and a name.  Kit Cat is very lucky!

Relief!

According to One Life To Live head writer Thom Racina, rumors that All My Children and his sudster would adopt a telenovela style of storytelling are entirely untrue.  While some people were looking forward to the idea of shorter story arcs, with possible breaks between, I'm very happy to hear that the traditional continuous form will stay in place.  That said, if these shows choose to go down the Port Charles path, I won't be upset.  Fresh stories every thirteen weeks can be a welcome creative shakeup if well executed.  I guess it all depends on the ability to churn out captivating material.  Definitely not oppose to small changes and experiments occasionally, as long as the shows are ongoing.

Official Cast List!

Prospect Park has released an official cast list for the new All My Children.

Darnell Williams as Jesse Hubbard
Debbi Morgan as Dr. Angela Hubbard
Vincent Irizarry as Dr. David Hayward
Lindsay Hartley as Cara Martin
Jordi Vilasuso as Griffin Castillo
Jill Larson as Opal Cortlandt
Thorsten Kaye as Zach Slater

With the exception of Thorsten as Zach, I have absolutely no problem with the way things are shaping up.  My only concern is that the list seems short.  While most of the actors and actresses are heavy hitters, I'm having trouble seeing storyline possibilities.  I hope that PP is working overtime to secure some essential talent and characters.  Even if The Powers That Be are miracle workers, there's no plausible way of explaining some of the gaping holes.  This is most certainly an excellent start, but I need more.

Someone's In The Kitchen...

Found a recipe that turned out amazing, and wanted to share.  This is Slow Cooker Bacon Wrapped Apple Barbecue Chicken!  My sister made it for the family dinner yesterday, and it totally blew my mind!  Here's the recipe:

2 small boneless skinless chicken breasts
4 slices bacon
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store bought)
2 large apples, peeled and cur into small pieces
2 tablespoons lemon juice

2.  Mix the BBQ sauce, apples and lemon juice and pour it over the chicken.
3.  Cook on low for 8 hours.

Happy eating!  Hope y'all enjoy as much as we did!

Amazing!

Robin Strasser has confirmed that she will be part of Prospect Park's One Life To Live!  How amazing is this?!  Don't have a lot of history with the show or character, but Robin is FIYA!  A huge score for fans!  Absolutely cannot wait to see Dorian raising hell in Llanview again!

Rats!

Meet Richard, The Rat King!  Isn't he awesome?!  Two people I love very much found him in a store in Florida, and sent him to me!  Cannot tell you how touched I was.  Small acts of kindness like this mean the world to me.  Much love to them!  Without knowing it, they've done me an amazing favor.  All my nutcracker soldiers were starting to fight amongst themselves.  Maybe Richard will be able to keep them in check!

Finally!

Someone finally listened!  TNA has announced that they are reducing the number of pay-per-views they produce in 2013 to four.  I've been screaming for them to do this since they started the monthly money losers.  Here's what the schedule looks like:

Genesis: January 13th
Lockdown: March 10th
Slammiversary: June 9th
Bound For Glory: October 13th

As is probably expected, fans will have to pay more to see them.  Though the price increase sucks, I would argue that with more time to build intriguing storylines, characters, and feuds, the number of people willing to part with their hard earned cash will increase exponentially.  Definitely the smartest move TNA has made in years!

Ballgame!

It's happened, people!  Brings me great joy to let everyone know that Prospect Park has finally come to terms with The Writers Guild Of America!  Apparently, the sticking point in previous negotiations was residuals.  As long as it's resolved, I don't care!  With the issue ironed out, there's quite a bit to think about.  Who would I like to write AMC?  For the immediate future, the obvious answer is Lorraine Broderick.  As she was the last to wield the power of the pen, I'd love to see how she'd wrap up the cliffhanger we were left with.  Then again, who knows if that situation will even be addressed?  Either way, this is incredible news for both shows, and will be interesting to watch develop.

Griffin!

Jordi Vilasuso and Griffin back to AMC!  Wasn't the biggest fan of the character.  Who knows, maybe this time around, he'll get a little more fleshed out.

Kevin!

Jon Lindstrom is bringing Kevin back to PC.  No word yet on length of stay.  Apparently, Lucy finds herself in major trouble after mistaking Sam for Livvie, and John for Caleb.  Kevin to the rescue!  I think it's awesome that Frank and Ron have chosen to mine this history!  Don't know how long it'll last, but definitely appreciate the nod to Port Charles.  Highly doubt Caleb has been masquerading as a cop all these years, but the journey to finding out is going to be a blast!  Port Charles is one of my all-time favorite shows!  Can't wait!

Big!

Genie Francis is returning to General Hospital!  Laura will be back just in time for the show's 50th anniversary celebration.  No word yet on how long she's sticking around, but I can't imagine Frank and Ron letting her go in a hurry.  I foresee a contract... hopefully.  Am interested to see if this long-anticipated homecoming leads to a boost in ratings.

Smoke?

We all know by now that I'm over the moon thrilled that Prospect Park plans to relaunch All My Children.  For the last week or so, information has been leaked from various sources regarding actors and actresses signing on, agreements being reached, locations, and budgets.  Amidst all this craziness, nary a word has been spoken of writing.  Please tell me, what is the point of getting everything else lined up if the most important element is missing?  From what I'm hearing, with a launch date fast approaching, nothing is set in stone on this front.  Solid long story is THE ABSOLUTE MOST IMPORTANT component of this genre!  Without it, there is nothing!  Prospect Park is delusional if they think this venture has any chance of being a success at this point!  Am so upset!  I don't know how to feel!  I'll tell you right now, if this has all been smoke and mirrors, with no real plan in place, I'll probably lose my mind.

Jekyll And Hyde!

Was lucky enough to get tickets to a performance of Jekyll And Hyde at The Providence Performing Arts Center!  One of my favorite shows ever, and this production does not disappoint!  Completely engrossing from beginning to end!  Wonderful time with a good friend!  If what I've heard about the success of this pre-Broadway tour is true, Jekyll And Hyde will be calling The Great White Way home for years to come!

1,000!

Absolutely unreal!  When this journey began, I could have never imagined it lasting!  A big thanks to my readers for taking this incredible ride with me!  Have loved every moment!

Dazed And Confused?

Hubbards!

Darnell Williams and Debbi Morgan will slip into the skins a Angela and Jesse once again!  This is such amazing news!  With these two anchoring the ship, my faith is strong.  One request.  When story continues, I hope lingering baby issues are addressed.  Last we saw, everything was unrealistically saccharine.  Rushed.  Bow was tied a little too tight to be convincing.
