Dinosaurs Everywhere!

My youngest nephew celebrated his third birthday last Saturday with a dinosaur party. The little guy is absolutely obsessed with the prehistoric creatures. There was even a hunt for fossils in the yard! I must say, I've never seen so many dinosaurs in one place... or so many dirty kids for that matter! Fun was had by all, and there are enough dinos to keep a certain little boy occupied for a long time.

Awesome!

A picture of the ring before Superstars and Raw started.  One of the greatest nights of my life!

Before The Bell...

This was taken at the last ROH event I went to.  Just wish I didn't look like some ungodly creature with giant teeth!   :)  Love nothing more than doing my favorite thing with my best friend!

Just As I Thought!

Just as I suspected!  Daniel Cosgrove is returning to All My Children as Scott Chandler.  While there isn't an official return date set, he is expected to assume the role in early December.

Amazing Casting!

Kimberlin Brown is joining the cast of All My Children. Reportedly, she'll be playing a judge in an "juicy" upcoming storyline. This is awesome! Keeping my finger on the pulse of the soaps like I do, I know that she has meant huge ratings for The Young And The Restless in the past. I remember her as sinister Dr. Rachel Locke on Port Charles. Absolutely loved watching her stir up trouble. This could be the casting of the year if TPTB utilize her properly. Let's hope the role is contract. All My Children is showing that they're in it to win it!

Took Long Enough!

Hooray! The fourth season of Boy Meets World has an official release date of December 7th. Us fans have been waiting years for this. The season has been on and off the release schedule so many times that I was losing hope. The reissue of the first three seasons must have done well enough for Lionsgate to feel warranted in continuing production of the rest of the series. I couldn't be happier! Absolutely cannot wait to collect them all! Yippee!

Two Newbies!

Lots of news today! Former Passions, and Days Of Our Lives star Lindsay Hartley has landed the role of Cara Finn. I'm a huge fan of Mrs. Hartley, and am beyond excited that I'll get to see her on a daily basis again.

In related news, Jordi Vilasuso will play Griffin. Both characters will be connected to Jake and Amanda.

Clarification...

Scott will be recast. I'm hearing an As The World Turns alum will take over. My guess, Daniel Cosgrove. He tackled the role in the late '90s.

New Ipod!

My 30GB Ipod decided to shit the bed a couple of nights ago. Replaced it earlier today with a 160 GB model. Always thought I'd be happy to get a new one, but the timing couldn't be worse. That's life, though. Just when you think things are straightening out, something comes along to laugh in your face. Not all bad though I suppose. Have plenty of room for my podcasts, and, assuming everything stays as it should, I shouldn't have to replace it for many years. I think I'll be happier about it in the morning.

And... They're Gone!

Adam Mayfield and Brittany Allen are out. While I liked both actors, Scott and Marissa are pretty useless in current form. No word yet on whether the roles will be recast. Personally, I think both milktoast characters should leave and never return. Let them realize feelings for one another and disappear.

Boy Meets World: The Complete First Season

I can't tell you how amazing it is to see these guys again. Getting reacquainted with Cory, Shawn, Topanga, Eric, and the rest of the Boy Meets World gang is wonderful. I didn't expect it to mean as much as it has. While great acting, and characters that feel as though they really exist are two very important parts of this series, it's amazing writing, and believable story arcs that keep me coming back again and again. Usually, the first season of a show can be a little shaky while kinks work themselves out. While there is certainly some evidence of that happening here, the viewer will find themselves happily overlooking small inconsistencies, in favor of getting lost in human emotion. It's amazing how quickly maturity is evident.

Technical stuff. Really wish the video had been cleaned up a bit. Grain is extremely heavy throughout, sometimes to the point of distraction. I expected that though, so can't cry over it. Audio is standard for this type of release. Special features include audio commentary on select episodes, and a bonus episode from season 4. Commentary is quite enjoyable, and hearing the cast reminisce enriches the experience greatly.

Minor quibbles aside, it's a definite must-own!

Pointless!

Jeff Phillips will be playing Nick Pearson for a handful of episodes. Apparently, he figures heavily into the Ryan crap. This is absolutely pointless, because we all know that Ryan will be exonerated of any involvement in David's murder. Why am I even bothering with this waste of time storyline?

Afghan...

Thanks to a special friend for making me this Afghan. It's beautiful! My three favorite colors! Nice and warm, too!

Newest...

The newest member of my ever-growing family of Siamese cat figurines. My sister came across her yesterday, and knew the perfect home. Isn't she pretty? I think the chipped ear adds a little something special.

Okay, so I already said how amazing the event was. What I didn't mention is that I got free tickets to the next one. A change of venue put a crimp in the seating arrangement. Long story short, I was offered free tickets to the next show to compensate the oversight. Very generous. Good stuff.

This is the ticket for the original venue. Try to keep all my stubs. What an awesome night!

This Is Wrestling!!!

Look at the card above. I can honestly say it delivered the best night of professional wrestling I've ever seen live. Everyone knows that I hold in-ring work to a higher level than any other aspect of the business. I've never seen anything more amazing where that's concerned. With the exception of the First Blood match, which was a little too gratuitously violent for my taste, I was awestruck with admiration for everything. Christopher Daniels vs. Tyler Black was in a class all it's own. Too bad they went to a time-limit draw, would loved to have seen a definitive conclusion. Keeps the feud going nicely though I suppose.

Think I was most surprised when Rebecca started screaming things during the main event... completely unexpected. She's much fun. Loved that Tim enjoyed it. Nothing better than having your best friend beside you at the matches. Can't wait to go back in December!

September 11th...

May all who read this, at some point in the day, take time to reflect. Tell the people you love most that you do, be grateful to be alive, pray for those lost, and their loved ones. While this day will never be forgotten, it is important to hold our collective head high, and be proud of our country.

So Unfair!

I go on Hulu yesterday to watch Another World, and find out it's only going to be available through October 13th. This is so unfair! Have been following the stories for over a year, and now I feel like I've wasted my time. What exactly was the point of airing it at all? I'm left with so many questions. Do Jamie and Marley live happily ever after with Olivia's baby? Are Paulina and Jake ever going to be happy together? What happens to Kevin? What havoc does Carl reek before his eventual redemption? These are just some...

Very sad...

End Of The "World..."

Have set my DVR to record the last week of As The World Turns. While I don't have a long history with the show, I'm certainly sad to bid it farewell. The promo for the final episodes looks promising. Truthfully, as long as Jack and Carly ride off into the sunset happily, I'm cool with anything else. I hope the loyal audience gets an ending they deserve.

I'll Start...

Rumors have begun circulating that Eden Regiel is out at The Young And The Restless. From what I've read and heard, she never exactly caught on as Heather Stevens. If the gossip is true, could we possibly see her return to AMC as Bianca? If so, where does that leave Christina Bennett Lind? She's won over her fair share of fans since assuming the role. Nothing is even being speculated yet. This is just me stirring the pot. Yeah, I'll admit it. I like to shake things up every once in a while.

Exhausted!

It's hard staying awake after stuffing you're face, and we all know the boy can eat!

What The...?

I'll let you use your own sick minds to come up with captions for these. :)

No Wonder...

Dishonorables this time.

First up, Cameron Mathison as Ryan on All My Children. As if the dialogue in the scene where he confronts David over his treatment of Greenlee wasn't bad enough, heavy breathing, bulging eyes, and ridiculous mannerisms send the torture screaming over the edge.

Moving on, the stumbling scenes after David's death. Cameron would have had to actually up his game to be bad. He wasn't even trying. Continuous stuttering, and the screwing up of lines made me want to rip my eyes out of my head, and plug my ears with cotton. Hideous! Everyone knows, I absolutely hate the character, and can't stand the actor. Even taking the usual putridness into account, these scenes were some of the worst I've ever seen.

Darnell Williams is up next as Jesse. To be fair, I think the problem was partially due to writing, but still. The scenes where he's being rude to Liza when she's trying to get information were terrible. What is it with bulging eyes? Thought his were going to pop from there sockets, and roll across the floor. Cartoonish facial expressions are unnecessary in any dramatic situation. For that matter, so is over-enunciating. I expect more from you, Darnell! Rise above the material!

This is the kind of shit that give soaps a bad name!

Years Of Searching...

I finally found a bootleg recording of The 20th Anniversary National Tour of Evita! This tour was the first time I ever saw the show, and it was absolutely amazing! Have been looking for ten years for any audio I could get my hands on, but haven't had much luck. Yesterday, on a whim, I decided to look again. Imagine my surprise when I found a complete live recording. I was stunned! Speechless! Couldn't believe it! Sure, the quality is less than stellar, but it honestly doesn't matter to me. To finally have an audio keepsake of the first production I saw is priceless. Crazy fantasy time. Find someone with professional recording equipment who can clean it up for me. How awesome would it be to have a professional quality recording? I know, I know, probably not going to happen. Just ridiculous wishing. Am grateful to have it in any form!

Couldn't Do It!

Just couldn't get into the third season of So You Think You Can Dance. Thought for sure, that with Neil and Lauren, I wouldn't be able to tear myself away. Very disappointed. Think I'm going to take a break for a while before I give season 4 a try. Damn you, Benji! You were so amazing that watching other people trying to compare is painful.

Rockin' The Do!

Did this on Friday. Wasn't sure what to think at first, but really like it now. It's been a while since I dyed, so I figured it would be fun.

What To Believe?

In the September 3rd edition of The Suds Report, TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco is reporting that Vincent Irizarry has indeed been fired. Apparently, top scribes Donna and David thought it was time for the evil doc to pay for his misdeeds. Why not do this when David was at his worst? Better yet, why do it at all? The worst part of the whole scenario? Apparently Ryan is the chief murder suspect. Oy vey! Will he ever go away?

Fun!

So, yesterday Rebecca came early, because we weren't exactly sure what time the storm was going to start. We decided to wander around Walgreens for a while to pass the time. I got some hair dye, (will post a picture of the result later), pretty autumn candles, and a drink. Rebecca got some cool stuff, too. Anyway, when we came home, we started taking pictures. Really like this one.

After the photo shoot, we made a cake. Rebecca had told me about an awesome Funny Bone cake. Honestly, I was kind of skeptical where duplicating the taste was concerned. Thankfully, I was wrong. It was absolutely amazing.

P.S. I Love You was next on tap, and definitely a good flick Who Do You Think You Are? was the perfect way of ending the night. Even though we didn't get much of a storm, everything was awesome.

More To The Story..

Apparently, the outlet who reported Vincent Irizarry's ouster spoke to soon. A representative for the actor posted an update to his official Facebook page letting fans know that negotiations are ongoing. If I were Vincent, I would see the previous report as a chess move, question my value, and seriously considered seeking employment elsewhere. Any one of the remaining soaps would be lucky to have him.

Not Feeling It...

Just started the third season of So You Think You Can Dance, and am just not into it. With the exception of Neil and Lauren, nobody is capturing my attention. Seeing Mia regularly is a treat, but I don't know if that's going to be enough to sustain me. I'll give it a few more episodes to grab me, but I don't see it happening for some reason.

Irizarry OUT?!

I must say, I'm totally shocked. Apparently, the upcoming death of a major character is legit. Published reports have Evil Dr. Dave meeting his maker, and extremely popular portrayer Vincent Irizarry out of a job. I put a question mark in the title of the post because I'm not exactly sure I believe it. Personally, I haven't liked David much at all this time around, and wouldn't mind seeing him leave town. That admission out in the open, I don't think killing him off is smart. In a couple of years, whomever is in charge is going to realize that a viable villain is needed on canvas, and we're going to have to suffer another terrible back from the dead storyline. Oh, how I hope not. We shall see. Will update as more information becomes available.
