Birthday!

Happy birthday to my sister today! Celebrated on Sunday, and got a couple of really nice pictures. The camera loves her... even in a goofy pose. :)

We take a picture together every year Think this one came out pretty good. Hope she had an amazing day. She definitely deserves it.

Road Trip!

Taken on his first trip to the vet. Well, his first trip since he's become a Spangler anyway. He just gets more and more adorable.

Could It Have Been Anyone Else?

Okay, I confess. Accidentally found out who won the second season before I even started watching. Was sure knowing would take away from the impact of the journey. I was so wrong. I cannot put into words what an amazing privilege it was to see Benji Schwimmer blossom into the incredible artist he became. I wish I could meet him to thank him for inspiring me. Incredible beyond any simple form of expression. Of the seasons I've seen thus far, no one compares. Even if you hadn't taken home the title of America's Favorite Dancer, you'd still be mine! Congratulations!

Another One Gone!

So, Ben has been eliminated from season 2 competition. One question. What took so long? I've never seen his appeal, or supposed ability. The fact that he admitted to putting absolutely no effort into his final solo shows his level of commitment and seriousness. How you could thumb your nose at such an amazing opportunity is beyond me. Glad he's gone. There are far more deserving dancers.

And The Winner Is...

Every week, Tim and Dillon have a wrestling match. Dillon usually comes out victorious, but this one ended in a time limit draw. What a cat, kicks your ass, and then cuddles with you for a nap.

Strike A Pose!

Looks like he's posing for the cover of Cat Fancy. Too cute!

Could He Be Anymore Adorable?

My very handsome youngest nephew. Can't believe he's going to be three soon. Time flies!

Birthday Celebration!

Yesterday, we celebrated Tahlia's birthday. Was great fun with awesome people. My mother made an ice cream cake. Isn't it pretty? Tasted amazing! Gotta love the little sandwiches on the outside edge. Yum! Hope Tahlia had a good time. Was most definitely fun!

Awesome!

Big congrats to Nick Lazzarini for winning the first season of So You Think You Can Dance. It might be old news to some, but it's new to me, and I'm happy about it. Bravo!

Color Me Shocked!

Okay, so I'm about to watch the finale of the first season of So You Think You Can Dance. I thought for sure that Blake would be there, but was shocked when he got eliminated from the competition. Don't think I've ever seen a contestant as good. He mastered practically every style that was thrown at him. Apparently, though, he didn't need to win it all to become ridiculously famous and successful. It's good to see he got the recognition he deserves.

As for the remaining contestants, Jamile leaves me cold, and the girls haven't impressed me much. Hope Nick pulls out the victory. If Blake can't take home the crown, Nick is definitely the next best choice.

Repetitive...

So, Jonnis and Sandra are the first to be sent home. Can't exactly say I'm surprised. They just weren't up to par. That said, I think Allan deserved to pack his things a little more. Don't see him lasting long at all. As I always say, hope ability outshines popularity. Speaking of ability, I'm absolutely in love with Blake. Yes, it's only the beginning, and a lot can change, but I can definitely see him going all the way. He's got my vote so far.

Now, the aspects of the first season I'm not feeling. Music selection remains the same each time a style of dance is repeated. I don't understand this. Spice things up! Dance styles are but a few, leading to a feeling of same old, same old. The floor definitely needs to open up. Lastly, choreography seems a bit simplistic. Really hope to see the choreographers come into their own as the season progresses, and give the dancers challenges to overcome.

Bad, Bad Regis!

Ever since I switched layouts quite a while back, I've been slowly going through the blog and resizing pictures. More room + bigger pictures = easier on the eyes. Anyway, I've been absolutely appalled at the punctuation mistakes I've made. I pride myself on being a good writer, and knowing what goes where. It drives me crazy to know I was so careless and sloppy. At least I'm catching and correcting now. Definitely have to pay closer attention.

Good Eats!

I love this place! Mexican food is amazing. Tim and I go on the regular, and enjoy it everytime. Great menu, an awesome atmosphere, and friendly service will keep you coming back. If you're ever in the New Bedford area, give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

So Unique!

Watched the finale of Passions again yesterday, and couldn't help but be a little sad. Was totally hooked when it first started, and stuck with it for many years. The supernatural premise, as wacky as it was, had a charm that kept me coming back. I tuned out when I realized there was never going to be any payoff, or storyline resolution. I confess, after leaving Harmony, I made a few return visits over the years, but nothing ever changed. It's disgustingly sad when the first storyline of the show is resolved in the final episode. It was all well and good to look back and remember, but I'm glad it's over.

Yay For The First Season!

Just found the first season of So You Think You Can Dance online, and absolutely cannot wait to watch. The best part, I have no idea who won, or any particulars for that matter, so it's going to be wonderful to follow the journey. Adore this show, and am glad I'm not going to have to wait until next season to get my fix.

Awesome Surprises!

Summerslam was last night. Had great fun with Tim, Dave, and Rebecca. What to say about the event itself? In-ring action was stellar, with the exception of a couple of endings. The returns of Daniel Bryan and The Undertaker were welcome surprises. As an aside, I'm not looking forward to Kane vs. The Undertaker, Round 1,256. Oh, by the way, John Cena defeating The Nexxus was absolute crap. Just like Wrestlemania, we kept score. Here's how it all shook down.

America's Favorite!

A big congratulations to Lauren Frodeman for being named America's Favorite Dancer! So well deserved. Wonderful outcome! Can't wait for season 8!

Who?

Robert, Lauren, and Kent have made it to the finale. It's going to be awesome to watch, because they each deserve to win.. I hope the outcome is based on talent, and not popularity. Good luck to all!

Another Soap!

Word has just broke that Maura West will be joining the cast of The Young And The Restless. The actress will make her debut on October 8th in the role of Diane Jenkins. Congratulations to one of the best actresses in the history of the game. Knew it wouldn't be long before she booked a gig. You can bet your sweet booty I'll be tuning into Y&R this fall!

The Sincerest Form Of Flattery?

Jennifer Aniston strikes some iconic Barbra Streisand poses for a recent Harper's Bazaar photo shoot. What do you think? Does she do the legend justice?

Great Review!

My favorite Blu-ray news and reviews site, High-Def Digest, has given What's Up Doc? a glowing review. I'm happy, but still don't think I'm going to buy it. Am not a huge fan of Barbra's movies, and already own it on DVD. Am impressed that Warner Brothers gave it the care and attention it deserves though.

Unbelievable!

Just read the main event for the 900th episode of Raw is going to be John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus. How amazing is that?! Superstars from Smackdown will also appear. Tim may actually get to see The Undertaker after all. Wouldn't that be amazing?

All Roads...

Why is it that all roads lead back to the mob on General Hospital? There isn't one story happening right now that doesn't have ties. Even some of the angst between Robin and Patrick can be traced back to her connection to Sonny. While we're on the subject of The King Of Crime, can someone please tell me why everything he does is justified and excused? The man kills people for a living, and has never paid. How ridiculous is that? The only one who seems to see his true nature is Kristina. Though, truth be told, I suspect she'll eventually bow down as well. Absolutely putrid. One more note on this subject. Maurice Bernard is a terrible actor, and if we are forced to suffer with this character day after day, the role must be recast. I hate them both!

Death to Lisa! Character and actress are absolutely useless. Instead of throwing an old flame in the mix, and forcing something so unnatural, why not give Robin and Patrick legitimate obstacles to overcome? A medical flareup surrounding Robin's HIV could be an organic strain on their marriage. It's not that hard, writers! Use what you have!

One last thing I must address. Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo's return as Brenda has me angry, and it hasn't even happened yet. The overpromotion is ridiculous! Granted, I wasn't a fan of the show during any of her previous tenures, but I have to question the logic of those in charge to bet the entire farm on her. People aren't watching! What if this all goes bust? Oh, by the way, people who aren't fans of GH are pretty pissed that the other two soaps in the ABC lineup are being preempted on August 10th in one final effort to pimp. Just what you want to do, alienate what little is left of your ever-dwindling audience! Really smart!

Scratching My Head...

I cannot believe my Billy Bell went home. What is America thinking? I really thought he had a good chance of winning it all. As much as I loved Kent in the beginning, and won't deny his talent, I'm getting really tired of saccharin sweetness. He seems to be relying more on facial expression and teenage appeal then actual ability. With Billy gone, I think I want Robert to take it home. He's so genuine, improvement is obvious every week, and he has passion. Diddo for Lauren. Robert is definitely first choice, but would love to see them battle it out in the finale.

Beating A Dead...

Why, oh, why does TNA insist on rehashing shit? Yes, ECW was revolutionary in its original incarnation, but do we really need another thrown together reunion? These guys are fifteen years older, can't perform as they once did, and shouldn't be given spots and airtime at the expense of those who deserve it. If it were me being passed over in favor of an inconsequential dayplayer, I'd be more than just a little upset. Time to stop betting the farm on momentary fixes, and focus on repairing your product to secure a bright, happy future.
